What I do

I help Swiss nonprofits, associations and foundations secure funding for cultural and social initiatives.

Most successful fundraising combines multiple funding sources: foundations, public institutions and grant programmes. My role is to help organisations develop projects that are ready for funding and connect them with the right funding opportunities.

From early project development to final reporting, I support the entire fundraising process.

Fundraising Strategy

Strong fundraising starts with a clear plan.

I work with organisations to develop fundraising strategies covering the next 12 to 36 months, identifying realistic funding opportunities and building a balanced mix of foundations, public grants and other sources of support.

Many organisations come to me when they decide to professionalise their fundraising activities. In these situations, I often help establish the fundraising function itself, creating systems, processes and priorities that can continue generating results over time.

Project Development

Funding proposals succeed when the underlying project is strong.

Before any application is written, I help organisations clarify objectives, define expected outcomes, identify beneficiaries and build partnerships that strengthen the project’s credibility.

Many projects begin as promising ideas. My role is to turn those ideas into structured initiatives that funders can confidently support.

A compelling idea opens the door. A well-designed project secures the funding.

Grant Applications and Funding Proposals

Once the project is clearly defined, I prepare the funding proposal.

Every application is tailored to the requirements of the specific funder, whether that is a private foundation, a public institution or a grant programme.

Applications typically include:

  • Project description
  • Objectives and expected outcomes
  • Timeline and implementation plan
  • Budget and funding strategy
  • Reporting framework

The goal is never to send as many applications as possible. The goal is to present the right project to the right funder.

Budgets and Reporting

A funding proposal is only as strong as the numbers behind it.

I develop project budgets, funding plans and reporting frameworks that align financial data with project objectives.

I also support organisations with final reporting requirements once funding has been awarded and projects have been completed.

Many funding applications fail not because the project is weak, but because the budget lacks credibility or the reporting process has not been properly planned from the outset.

Funder Research and Partnership Coordination

Identifying the right funders is one of the most important parts of fundraising.

I research foundations, public institutions and grant opportunities that genuinely match a project’s objectives, helping organisations focus their efforts where the chances of success are highest.

When projects involve multiple partners, I also support coordination between lead organisations, collaborators and funders to ensure everyone is working towards the same goals.

Long-term relationships matter. Maintaining the trust of existing funders is often more valuable than constantly searching for new ones.

How We Can Work Together

Support can be provided in different ways depending on the organisation’s needs:

  • Review of a single funding proposal
  • Support across multiple applications
  • Ongoing fundraising consultancy
  • Monthly retainer agreements
  • Fixed-term fundraising mandates
  • Part-time fundraising roles

The format is flexible and designed around the organisation’s structure, resources and objectives.

From funding to storytelling

A funded project eventually needs to become a story: a podcast, a documentary, a video campaign that shows it to the people who support it. For that part I collaborate with Akra Studios, an audiovisual production studio in Chiasso that also specialises in the non-profit sector. I remain your reference point for funding; when production is needed, there’s a studio ready for it.
